dc.description.abstract | Water is the most critical input in sugarcane production, but its availability in adequate quantity is becoming difficult in most of the sugarcane growing areas of the country. Droughts are becoming frequent and have seriously affected sugarcane and sugar production in the recent past. Under these circumstances to sustain sugarcane production exploiting the full potential of the available water is of paramount importance. We have taken cognizance of this problem and have been working on various aspects of improving water use efficiency in sugarcane culture. This paper gives an account our research results and our perspectives for the future. | en_US |
