dc.description.abstractThe essential oils of leaves, flowers, rhizomes and roots of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) were analysed by GC-MS. The major constituent of flower oil was p-cymene-8-ol (26.0%) while leaf oil was dominated by alpha-phellandrene (32.6%). The rhizhomes and roots contained ar-turmerone (31.0% and 46.8%, respectively) as major constituents.en_US
